For Moms Trying to Find a Balance
Are you trying to find a balance in your life? Well you're not alone! Being a mom is a role that requires so much juggling, flexibility, creativity, and selflessness that it’s natural to often feel overwhelmed and off balanced. As moms, we know that we have the hardest jobs around, but sometimes even we don't appreciate that. We often have rigid expectations of ourselves while we are generous and understanding of the next person. The trick is trying to strike a happy medium between striving to be the best mom you can be with compassion, acceptance, and understanding for yourself. When you’re trying to feel centered, one of the most important things to remember is that balance is about making choices. Learning to say “no” allows you to make room in your life for other things. If you say “yes” too often, and “no” not enough, you’re headed into a state of feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, and with
compassion fatigue.
You end up limiting your choices and feeling obligated and resentful. When you notice that you’re starting to feel off balanced, unhappy, or overwhelmed, take a look at your life and figure out which area(s) need some attention. I've helped a lot of clients with this issue and have discovered it often comes down to not living by one's values. Need some clarification?

It’s also important to remember that trying to find a balance doesn’t mean giving in or giving up. It means discovering the things that cause you undue stress, anxiety, and frustration and figuring out what changes to make. It means taking to heart the saying “when one door closes, another one opens” so that you’re open to changing your perspective and adapting to new situations. It means acknowledging your limitations and preferences .so that you can be truer to who you are and what works for you. This isn't always easy! And many of us are used to giving up on things that are hard. Here are some great
tips for staying motivated
to help you stay focused, encouraged, and on the right track.
When you’re finding your center, being flexible is essential. Because for most people, trying to find a balance isn’t an end point, but instead a continual journey, one with lots of ebbs and flows. The trick is to be open to your options and to be adaptable enough to change your direction. And to realize that because life is full of constant change, striving for balance is something you will continually be working on! As moms, we have an incredible amount of responsibility and often feel like we’re being pulled in every direction at once. Trying to find a balance is good for you and for your family. When you feel comfortable with your limitations, your preferences, and your ability to see all options, you’re free to choose the paths that work best for you and your happiness! I know from personal experience that moms have the hardest jobs in the world. If you find yourself struggling with some of the many aspects of life that change with motherhood, please
