Self Improvement and Motivation

Self improvement and motivation are big issues for women who want to take control over their lives and head in a new direction.

Realistic Self Improvement for Everyone!

For most of us, personal development is a puzzle we work on completing throughout our lives. It can include a wide variety of issues including becoming healthier, reducing stress, feeling more fulfilled, and improving how we relate to others.

What you may have already realized is that self improvement and motivation don't necessarily come easily, especially when you’re working on them by yourself. In fact, it can get downright frustrating when you’ve got specific changes in mind but can’t seem to keep the focus, inspiration, or commitment needed to make them happen.

This is when having a support structure in place is really helpful. My primary role as a life coach is to be a support, accountability, and motivating partner to my clients. But even if you’re not interested in full fledged life coaching right now, you know that staying motivated about your self improvement is really important.

Self Motivation at Your Finger Tips!

When you’re trying to feel or stay enthusiastic about an important task, change, or challenge, these seven self motivation tips are a great starting point.

Another great resource is "Motivated in Minutes," a book with over 1,000 quick and easy tips and ideas to help you get and stay motivated - in minutes! It takes just a single idea to start the chain reaction that changes your life, and now you can have over 1,000 at your fingertips!

Another way to work on your own motivation is to read and internalize great motivational quotes. I don’t know anyone who hasn’t been affected by at least one powerful quotation and finding inspiration from others who’ve gone before you is an amazing way to stay focused and determined!

A Lack of Motivation May be
Affecting More than Your Goals

You may not have thought much about it, but your level of motivation has a big ripple effect on your life. It contributes to how you feel about yourself, how content you are at work, your mood in general, and your feelings of success and achievement.

When you feel down in the dumps, does your motivation to get anything accomplish fly out the window too? And when you’re feeling super motivated, do you notice that you feel happier and more optimistic in general? Motivation and emotion are closely related so it’s important to have a good understanding of how they affect each other in both positive and negative ways so that you can take charge of your direction.

Feeling motivated at work is another issue that affects many people. And since we all spend so much of our lives at work, it’s an issue that deserves a lot of attention. Learning more about the three main components of motivation in the workplace will help you to feel better about your time spent at work, or inspire you to find a job that connects better with who you are and what you need.
