Daily Exercise Tips for Busy Women
Are you one of those people who doesn't have time for daily exercise? While it's easy to feel this way in this fast paced world, there are specific ways you can incorporate exercise into your daily life without setting aside extra time for it. When it comes to daily exercise a good attitude, a sense of commitment, and a little bit of action each day are the key components for success. It's a widely believed misconception that you need to follow a a strict diet or participate in long and exhausting exercise routines in order to stay in shape. But that's just not true! Try some of these exercise tips to slip some more movement into your daily routine: - Take the Stairs. Most of the time, no matter where you are, there are opportunities to take the stairs instead of the elevator. Whether you're attending an important business meeting, going to the mall, or visiting a friend in the hospital, choose to take the stairs.
- Go for a Walk. Walking is a great way to get extra exercise and most of the time it doesn't even feel like exercise at all. Ask a girlfriend if she'd like to take a walk for your morning coffee get together. Having a partner makes the time more enjoyable and go faster. Or you can go for walk when you just need to sort some of your thoughts. Besides, getting some extra blood to the brain will actually help you think clearer.
- Play with Your Kids. Your children are a built-in excuse for active play! Decide that you're going to engage in exuberant games like outdoor sports, tag, or jump rope. You can even do this with pets too -- liven up your daily dog walk by increasing your speed, increasing the distance, or increasing the challenge (choose a hilly route). It'll be a fun and relaxing source of exercise!
- Jog in Place. Jogging in place might seem like a boring activity, but when you combine it with something else that you're doing, it can be quite invigorating. There are bound to be short bursts of time that you can use to relieve tension and get the blood pumping.
- Ride Your Bike. If you're traveling a short distance, it's a great idea to take your bike instead of the car. While it may add some time to your overall travel, it's a great way to stay in shape if you can spare a few extra minutes.
- Active Dates. Whether you'd like to schedule a date with a partner, friend, or family member, you can definitely choose an activity with movement. Instead of going to a movie, go dancing. You could even try something like rock climbing or attending the batting cages. Get creative and have a blast!
- Lift Weights. You can lift weights while you're watching TV, talking on the phone, working on the computer, or brainstorming. Keeping the weights at your desk or on your coffee table is an easy reminder to use them.
- Park Far Away. Give up the fight for the closest parking spot! Instead, park a little further away and feel good about getting many extra steps in...as well as saving yourself a headache and wasted time driving around the parking lot.
- Try Outdoor Chores. Change your perspective on outdoor chores and enjoy the benefits of these physical activities. Mow your lawn, do some weeding, trim bushes, or take up gardening - it's a simple way to stay fit!
