An Ideal Husband

Do you have an ideal husband? One of the biggest complaints women have about their marriage, especially after having children, is that their husband doesn't do or give enough.

Do any of these sound familiar?

* "I wish he would just help out around the house more."

* "Would it kill him to feed and bathe the kids every once in a while?"

* "It would be nice if he'd show me more affection and appreciation sometimes."

Do you and your husband see things from totally different perspectives? Obviously good relationships take effort on both ends. And you know there are some things you need to work on yourself. But because women are often responsible for more of the domestic duties and because men and women often have difficulties communicating with each other effectively, the likelihood of women feeling frustrated and neglected by their husbands is very high.

The bad news is that there is no formula for an ideal husband, or even for an ideal relationship. The good news is that improved communication, realistic expectations, and consistent self-care can do amazing things!

The only person you can control is you. (Although if I were Queen of the World…:-) But when you begin to take more responsibility for improving your end of the relationship, you will begin to notice the positive ripple effects.

You may find yourself more forgiving of your husband's flaws, more flexible in your expectations, and better able to kindly ask for what you need. You may not get an ideal husband but you can certainly work towards a better relationship!

Things CAN be better.

This is exactly what good life coaching can help you with! Sometimes we're so entrenched in daily life that it can be nearly impossible to look at the big picture. And it is essential, for the health of your marriage, to try to step back from your limited perspective and open yourself up to new possibilities!
